Choral Canada was proud to represent Canada's group singing community at the 2023 World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM) in beautiful Istanbul, Türkiye last week.
Our Executive Director Meghan Hila and President-Elect Xavier Brossard-Ménard were in attendance, and managed the Choral Canada booth at the WSCM Expo Hall. Here, they showcased Canadian choral repertoire from various Canadian publishers, shared information with students about post-secondary choral arts studies in Canada, invited delegates from the around the world to attend PODIUM 2024 in Montreal, spread the word on the Benefits of Singing Campaign, and promoted the Vancouver Youth Choir`s concert and the featured composers.
We also hosted a reception with the Vancouver Youth Choir for Canadian delegates and special guests. Lastly, we attended as voting members at the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM)`s General Assembly and we are pleased to announce that Ki Adams has been voted on the IFCM Board of Directors, representing Canada. Congratulations, Ki!
