Conducting Masterclass Opportunities at PODIUM 2020

​The next PODIUM Conference will take place on May 14-17, 2020 in Montreal, Quebec. Three Masterclasses are offered for different levels. Each participant gets about 20 minutes of podium time at the masterclass they are selected for. There will also be a 2-hour round-table seminar preceding each masterclass (usually the day before). Participants are encouraged to attend all 3 masterclasses and seminars. The exact dates and times of the masterclasses and seminars will be announced soon.

This program is open to undergraduate students in music who have completed at least one year of choral conducting education. It will be conducted by Dr Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor Emeritus, U of Toronto. Ensemble: Exultate Chamber Singers.

A project of Choral Canada's Student Chapter, this program is open to graduate students in conducting (Masters and Doctorate) and offers conductors the opportunity to work with the National Youth Choir of Canada and its Master Conductor, who in 2020 is Dr Jean-Sébastien Vallée.

This program is open to emerging and established conductors and educators who would like to further develop their conducting technique. It will be conducted by Dr. Andrew Megill, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Choir
ensemble TBC.
