Membership is open to anyone interested in choral music. Choral Canada’s members include conductors, composers, arrangers, students, choral administrators, accompanists, music educators, choristers, professional choirs, industry partners, universities, and more. Your membership supports Choral Canada’s many programs and services, helps keep Canada singing!

Choral Canada administers important national programs and services, which your membership supports.
- National Youth Choir
- Podium, the only national biennial choral conference and festival that focuses on professional development, resource dissemination and performance opportunities
- National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs

- Anacrusis, the national Canadian choral journal (members receive by mail and/or digital three times a year)

ie. conductor, composer, singer, administrator/manager, board member, educator, accompanist, advocate, any individual!
STUDENT (FULL TIME): $39.55 (incl 13% HST)
Individuals who are currently, or have been within the past 24 months, enrolled in full-time studies at a secondary or post-secondary educational institution
EDUCATIONAL & LIBRARY INSTITUTIONS: $113 (incl 13% HST)
ie. post-secondary institutions (university, college, cégep), libraries or music/choral departments
*NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS: $113 (incl 13% HST)
ie. non-profit festivals, conferences, seasonal choral workshop series
This category is not for choirs/singing groups/choral organizations. See *Important* explanation below.

For the purposes of Choral Canada’s “professional choir” membership category, it is expected that a professional choir sustains artistic employment for singers by paying all singers for all rehearsals and performances on an hourly / per service basis and the choir has paid artistic and managerial staff. (Please note that the membership category does not reflect on the level of performance of the choirs, and this definition should not be used for funding determination, and the definitions used by Canada Council for the Arts and other arts funding organizations are broader and may include a jury process or other criteria to determine eligibility).
A "national choir" is a choir whose choristers live across the country.

ie. tour companies, music stores, publisher, for-profit festivals and competitions, etc.

*Important: Membership for non-professional/national choirs is processed through your Provincial Choral Organization (PCO). If your non-professional/national choir is a member of a PCO, the choir automatically becomes an Affiliate Member (non-voting, see membership benefits in the chart below) of Choral Canada. Affiliate Membership does not provide any membership status or benefits to an individual associated with that choir (conductor, singer, administrator, etc.). Individuals must be Individual/Student members of Choral Canada to access membership status and benefits. Please contact Choral Canada or your PCO for more information.
How to Apply or Renew
Membership is annual. It runs October 1st to September 30th. Membership begins upon receipt of payment.
