The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir concludes its annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium with a free community concert, Saturday, January 28th at 3 pm EST at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church (1585 Yonge St., one block north of St. Clair). Doors open at 2:15 pm. First come, first seated.

The TMC and the chamber ensemble, the Elora Singers will perform works from the Renaissance through to excerpts from masterpieces by Bach, Mozart and Mendelssohn, and up to contemporary works, including Leonard Cohen’s iconic Hallelujah.

The choirs will be conducted by the five emerging conductors who have come from across North America to study with Noel Edison during an intensive week-long conducting symposium.  The conductors are: Lawrence Abernathy of College Station, Texas; Hana Cai of Rochester, New York; Dr. Jonathan Harvey of Belchertown, Massachusetts; Walter Mahabir of Toronto, Ontario; and Matthew Swanson of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The concert will also be webcast live on Livestream and the TMC’s webcast page.
