CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:

Guest Conductor of unique National Youth Choir 2017

Choral Canada is now accepting nominations for the position of Guest Conductor of the 2017 National Youth Choir (NYC) of Canada. Sponsored by Heritage Canada to honour Canada’s sesquicentennial, NYC 2017 is a unique auxiliary to the biennial iterations of this highly acclaimed ensemble. NYC 2017 will rehearse and perform in collaboration with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada on a specialized 3-city tour in July 2017 as part of NYO Canada’s Sesquicentennial Pan-Canadian Tour.

Since 1984, some of the finest Canadian choral conductors have been invited to conduct the choir. The NYC has performed at all Podium, Choral Canada’s national choral conference and also at the 1993 World Symposium on Choral Music in Vancouver. NYC concerts have been broadcast nationally on the CBC Stereo Network.
